In IS-H*MED RAD IC, the RIS study represents the DICOM PACS study. It is created by the system together with the examination if the requested service is a digital image-processing procedure defined in the PACS. It contains the DICOM study reference data necessary for RIS - PACS communication.
The RIS study is delivered as sample document category N7STUDY.
Activities
Note: It is not possible to use the described procedure to automatically merge existing document categories with supplied sample documents! Existing document categories must be maintained manually.
In order to configure a new project-specific RIS study, you should proceed as follows:
- You create or change the status network of the RIS study. You map the required DICOM status and its transitions.
A proposal contains the document type RST. You can find the DICOM study status below in Example. You configure further statuses and transitions according to your requirements.
- You create a project-specific RIS study from the sample document.
We recommend that you create a project-specific RIS study, so that it remains unaffected by changes to the standard.
- You log on to the target client.
- You call the report RN2UTDTM2.
- You make the necessary source and target entries and select the transport variant Document Category with Element List and Abstract Design. The sample document category is called N7STUDY. You start the report with Execute (F8). The document category can then be found on your target client.
- You can find further information in the report documentation.
- You copy the sample document category N7STUDY into the customer namespace so it remains unaffected by changes in the standard. You use transaction N2T5 and copy the abstract design and the element list. You use the Preset function in the Abstract Design: Copy Documentation Element screen and change the name of the master element. You then receive all default study attributes.
- You adapt the new study document to suit your requirements.
Version 001 of the sample document contains customer user exits. The routines create, for example, the RCC or earlier presettings of the document. You transfer and adapt the code to suit your requirements. In the document category version 002 the supplied code is automatically integrated. You can see the calls of the standard functions on the Standard User Exits tab page. - Note: The document category version 002 is only used as a template for the RIS study to be configured. It is not possible to upgrade from version 001 to 002 using this procedure.
- You select Element List ->Table Maintenance and check and generate the dialog application.
- You assign the RIS study to a defined PACS.
- In the IMG you execute the activity Industry-Specific Component Clinical System -> IS-H*MED: Radiology -> Component IS-H*MED RAD IC (Image Connector) -> Maintain PACS Assignments.
- The communication with the assigned PACS takes place using the attributes of this RIS study.
Example
The following DICOM study statuses can be mapped, for example, by the internal document status:
Document Status DICOM Study Status
CR Study created (study created)
SC Study scheduled (examination planned)
PA Patient arrived (patient present)
ST Study started (examination started)
CO Study completed (image acquisition completed)
VE Study verified (image quality checked)
RE Study read (findings created for images)
Further notes
The RIS study contains the keys relevant for the communication with the PACS such as the patient ID, study ID (resp. accession number in Mitra Simple Interface), study IUID (if required). You can enhance the parameterizable RIS study by adding further keys and attributes. If you used document category version 002 as a template, the structure N7STUDYIDS must be contained in your document category definition.
