RIS communicates with PACS via interfaces. On the RIS side of things, these interfaces are defined in the product component IS-H*MED RAD IC. In PACS, on the other hand, specific and/or DICOM interfaces are used. Given the numerous variations available for mapping communication relationships, it is essential that you have the flexibility you need when you assign RIS attributes to PACS attributes (map rules). The assignments also contain the value display rules listed in the table.
At present, these assignments are only used for the MITRA Simple Interface (MSI).

As new versions are shipped, they will contain examples of assignments for the MSI protocol - you can use these as templates to copy from.
Recommendation
Activities
Define only IS-H*MED RAD -> PACS (i.e. target) attribute assignments that are not already in the standard system. Use the target attribute names and formats specified in the Broker.
Further notes
Generally speaking, you should use the N2RAD_<Attribute Name> naming convention for IS-H*MED RAD attributes. The attribute names used for worklist formatting correspond to the DICOM attribute tags.
The standard system contains a set of RIS attribute - MSI attribute assignments (stored in system table N2RAD_ATTRMAP). At present, these assignments are only used for communicating with the MITRA PACS Broker via MSI. They are used by the Worklist Server, for example.
