Use
This IMG section describes the settings you need to make in Travel Management to be able to use geocoding and geographic maps.
Geocoding supplies the geographic coordinates for street addresses, enabling the addresses to be displayed on maps.
Maps support users in functions such as selecting an airport and selecting a hotel. When users search for an airport in the vicinity of a particular destination, the airports found are displayed on a map. When users search for hotels, the hotels found are displayed on a map where they can be selected directly and a reservation booked.
Geocoding servers and map servers can usually provide geocoding or maps for only a single set of maps (such as for Europe or the US). If you want to use two sets of maps in parallel, you must configure two instances of the geocoding server or map server.
The geocoding server is accessed through the IGS. Since an IGS instance can only access one geocoding server or map server, you need two IGS instances to be able to use both servers in parallel.
Access to both IGS instances can be achieved in two ways:
- Through the geocoding framework in the ECC back end through RFC connections
- Through HTTP calls for displaying maps in the Web Dynpro front end
Requirements
For information on setting up the IGS, see the SAP Service Marketplace under http://service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP Netweaver -> Release 04 -> Installation -> SAP WebAS -> Installation Guide - Internet Graphics Service.
To improve system performance during the determination of hotel coordinates, copy the entries in table TA23HOTELS from client 000 to your live client.
You do this with transaction TPCP. In the Client to be processed field, enter the source client. Select table TA23HOTELS. A dialog box appears in which you enter the target client. Then start the copy process.
