The breakdown indicator is used in the Quantity Schedule to define the length of a breakdown period for call-offs against a contract.

The breakdown indicator of a contract scheduling line is used as a proposal at the time of the creation of the quantity schedule for a call-off. The relevant contract scheduling line is selected according to the delivery date.

Example

Standard settings

  • At exchange type level the breakdown indicator is the default for the assigned exchange agreement and can be overwritten in exchange agreement maintenance.
  • At exchange agreement header level the breakdown indicator is defaulted from the quantity shedule header data of the assigned document type and can be overwritten in the quantity schedule header.
  • For QS scheduling lines, defaulted from the contract Quantity Schedule header, the default breakdown indicator is '*'. This means that there is no special scheduling. This can be adjusted for specific scheduling periods (individual call-offs within a contract Quantity Schedule).

Further notes

Please note that it is not a good idea to create new breakdown indicators, because then the program code has to be changed.
