In some circumstances it is possible to automatically assign group account numbers to operational accounts.
Requirements
A group chart of accounts must have been established and a financial statement version must exist to which the operational accounts are assigned. Both the group chart of accounts and the financial statement version must correspond with the structure of the Consolidation FS chart of accounts.
If a group financial statement version does not yet exist, perform the step Set up group financial statement version.
Activities
Automatically assign the group accounts to the operational accounts.
Note on transports
You can transport the group chart of accounts along with the its settings manually. To do this, perform the step Transport chart of accounts in the FI/General Ledger Implementation Guide.
Further notes
If no group financial statement version exists, decide whether it is less time-consuming to set up the version or manually assign the group accounts to the operational accounts.
