In this step, you define the parameters for planning the sequence of planned orders:
Processing profile
Here, you define the planning procedure the system is to use to determine the sequence of the planned orders within the planning period. The following procedures are available:
- External optimization procedure (Via PP POI interface)
The system determines the sequence using the sequence number, which it receives over the interface.
- FIFO
The system firstly determines the sequence of sales orders using the sales order number and item. It then determines the sequence of make-to-stock production orders, based on the planned order numbers. Sales orders therefore have higher priority.
- Manual dispatching
You dispatch the orders manually using the input fields or Drag&Drop.
- User exit
You link to an external process via a user exit.
Planning profile
Here, you define the length of the planning period and enter the processing profile. The planning period is the period for which the system determines the system of planned orders each time. You can plan the sequence over several days or shifts. To do this, the system proceeds as follows:
- Firstly, it determines which planned orders have to be dispatched within the planning period, based on the order start dates.
- It then calculates the sequence of these planned orders, according to the procedure defined in the processing profile.
In the planning profile, you can also activate repeated dispatching of planned orders. When you subsequently call sequencing, the system dispatches all planned orders. If you do not select repeated dispatching, the system no longer changes the planned orders that it dispatched in the previous call.
By using the medium term planning horizon, you can limit the dispatch and firming of planned orders to any number of planning periods.
Further notes
- If you have created several planning profiles for one plant, the system uses the first planning profile that is displayed in the list.
- In the component Line Design, you can insert buffers for changing the sequence between line segments, enabling you to enter various procedures for individual line segments. If you do this, the procedures you enter are used for sequence planning.
