To prepare budget management, you need to:

  • Create new budget profiles
  • Maintain the field contents of cost-center-specific detailed information for the created profiles (= texts)

With the detailed configurations you can also list the defined budget profiles for budget planning of orders and financial planning along with the budget profiles for Cost Center Accounting.

Once you have created a budget profile, you can maintain the following detailed configurations for this profile relevant for Cost Center Accounting.

  • Budgeting analysis period
    • Past
      • Valid analysis period extending into the past
    • Future
      • Valid analysis period extending into the future
    • Start
    • Annual values, allowing annual value planning
    • Period values, allowing period value planning
  • Distribution key
  • Display
  • Decimal places
  • Scaling factor

Note

If budget planning is carried out in annual values and the budget profile is switched over at a later time to period values, the annual values will continue to be displayed.

The profiles do not have version features at this time.

Actions

  1. Check whether the delivered profiles meet your requirements.
  2. Create a new profile, if necessary, by choosing New entries, or copy an existing profile.
  3. Enter a key for your budget profile.
  4. Enter a description for your budget profile.
  5. Maintain the detailed configurations for your profile by carrying out the following IMG activitys:
    1. Choose your profile from the list of all budget profiles available for CCA.
    2. Maintain the cost-center-relevant fields for your budget profile.
    3. Save your entries.

Note on transport

To transport budget planning profiles, a separate function is provided in Customizing under Controlling -> General Controlling.
