In this section, you define new exchange rate types for planning.
Exchange rate types are used to define currency translation rates in the system different purposes at the same date. You cannot delete the predefined entries.
Note
The system uses exchange rate type "M" when you post and clear documents.
Prerequisites
Exchange rate type "M" must exist in the system because the system uses this to translate currencies when you post and clear documents.
Standard Settings
The system is delivered with exchange rate types G (buying rate), B (selling rate) and M (average rate). If you do not specify an exchange rate type, the system automatically sets it at M.
Activities
- Determine which exchange rate types your business requires.
- Check whether the exchange rate types delivered meet your requirements.
- Create new rates if necessary.
