In this step you define authorization profiles or check whether the standard profiles meet your requirements.
A profile contains authorization objects for a delimited working area. A composite profile contains several profiles. With the help of profiles and composite profiles, you can structure and manage authorizations.
By entering a profile or a composite into the user master, a user receives all authorizations contained in it.
In this section you can check whether the SAP standard profiles meet your requirements and, if necessary, define new profiles.
Requirements
You have completed the step "Maintain authorizations".
Standard settings
The authorizations for the reconciliation ledger are stored in the composite profile K_RCL_ALL. This composite profile contains the following profiles:
- K_RCL_USER
Authorization group for authorization object K_VRGNG for users
- K_RCL_ADMI
Authorizations for reconciliaton ledger administrators
Authorization group for authorization object K_VRGNG for system administrators
Activities
- Check whether the standard profiles meet your requirements.
- If necessary, create new profiles that meet your requirements. To do so, proceed as follows:
- Enter the required profile using the name.
- Keep the naming conventions in mind as you do so.
- This can be an available profile or a new profile to be created.
- Perform the function "Create work area".
- With the function "Create", determine whether it is a simple profile or a composite profile.
- Enter a short text.
- Enter authorizations for your profile by proceeding as follows:
- Choose your profile.
- Choose the function "Insert authorization".
- You receive the list of the object classes. Via this list, you choose the necessary authorizations. Proceed as in authorization maintenance.
- Select the required authorizations in the value set list and copy them into the profile.
- Save your profile.
- Activate your profile.
- Check whether the profiles are complete; that is, whether all users can carry out the required actions.
Note on transport
You transport profiles as follows:
- Display the profiles list.
- Choose "Profile - Transport".
- Select the profiles you wish to transport.
- Confirm your selections and enter the correction number.
