In this step you can define validation groups for the validation checks, and assign rules along with their accompanying warnings and error messages to these validation groups.

Standard settings

The most important validation checks are entered in the standard SAP system as a minimum framework. They can also give you an overview of the functionality available for validation checks.

The FS items called up in these validation rules match the FS chart of accounts preset in the standard SAP system.

Activities

  1. Specify which validation groups you need for checking local, corporate and consolidated values.
  2. Check the validation checks in the pre-defined validation group, and make any desired modifications.
  3. If required, create new validation groups.

  • You can maintain warnings and error messages centrally in the next step Maintain warnings and error messages.
  • If you have automatically replaced the pre-defined item numbers with your own item numbers, this change is also carried out in the validation rules.
