In order to generate jounal entry reports, you can define the following as needed:

  • Display variants
  • Totals variants
  • Default variants
  • Values in the various selection menues

The display variant determines the base layout of your journal entry report.

The totals variant determines the criteria for totalling the journal entries.

The default variants let you determine which display variant and which totals variant should automatically appear in the initial screen of your JE report.

You define the values in the selection menues

  • to select the criteria for restricting the base layout of a JE report,
  • to select the criteria for searching, sorting and totalling the journal entries.

Standard settings

An assortment of display variants, totals variants, default variants as well as selection menues are pre-defined in the SAP standard delivery system.

Activities

  1. Decide which journal entry reports are required.
  2. Check whether you can generate these reports with the pre-defined variants and values.
  3. If needed, create new variants, default values and selection menus.

Notes on transporting

You can manually include the variants, default values and field selection under

  • Display variants -> Transport...
  • Totals variants -> Transport...
  • Default values -> Enter in TR
  • Goto -> Field selection -> Transport -> Enter in request

Further notes

When modifying a display variant, if the field sequence in the base layout is changed, the changed display variant must be generated and saved.
