In this step, you define validation groups for performing validation checks when making a PC data entry with Dbase. Rules and pertinent warnings and error messages are assigned to the validation groups.
The rules are downloaded along with the data entry forms as ASCII files, and cannot be modified at the remote PC.
Please note that the definition can only process 8-digit item numbers and 4-digit company ID's.
Standard settings
A validation group has been preset in the SAP standard system for PC data entry with Dbase. The financial statement items to be checked according to the validation rules correspond with the FS chart of accounts preset in the SAP R/3 standard delivery system.
Activities
- Determine which validation groups are needed.
- Check and, when appropriate, enhance the validation checks in the predefined validation group.
- Add any new validation groups required.
