Use

This Customizing activity enables you to specify the authorization for kanban status change for certain users. The system queries the authorization as soon as a user triggers a kanban status change.

You can define the authorization concept at the following levels:

  • User
  • Control cycle
  • Plant
  • Production supply area

For each user, you can specify which of the kanban statuses from 1 to 6 he or she may or may not set. In the standard system all status fields are unflagged, meaning that the user is allowed to make any kanban status change. If you select (flag) a status, the user's authorization for this status is withdrawn.

The User, Control Cycle, Plant and Production Supply Area fields are mandatory fields. You can enter either a specific value or an asterisk (*) as a placeholder (wildcard) for all values.

Evaluation of the authorizations is carried out according to the following priorities:

  1. The entry contains a certain user
  2. The entry contains a certain control cycle
  3. The entry contains a certain plant
  4. The entry contains a certain production supply area

A value takes precedence over an asterisk (*).

In the first general entry, all users are prohibited from setting status 3 (In Process) and status 4 (In Transit) in any control cycles, plants, and production supply areas of their enterprise. With the second entry, you make an initial specification of the authorization concept. You prohibit all users from setting statuses 4 (In Transit) and 6 (In Use) in any control cycles of plant 0001 in production supply area PSA_A. On the other hand, status 3 (In Process) is allowed. In the evaluation of the authorization data, this specific entry has a higher priority than the general entry because in this case you have entered concrete values instead of the asterisk (*).
