Here you define in which cases the system creates an error message for a defective status change and does not change the status of the kanban.
In all other cases, the system sets the corresponding kanban to status 'Defective'.
If a kanban is set to status 'Defective', then this kanban can only be processed using the kanban correction. Here, the user requires the appropriate authorization. In many cases, for example if there is not a valid cost center when backflushing a run schedule quantity, then it is advisable to set the kanban to status 'Defective'. In other cases, for example if the data is temporarily blocked by another user, an error message is sufficient. This error message should inform the user that the status change can not be carried out and for which reasons. The user can repeat this action at any time; the kanban retains its status. In the following you will see how to define those activities for which the system should simply create an error message, without changing the kanban status.
Activities
You enter the transaction code of the transaction, in which the system is to issue the error message, created for an unsuccessful status change. In addition, you require the number of the error message, which is issued for the corresponding error and the work area to which the error message is assigned.
Carry out the following steps to obtain the entries: transaction code, error message number and work area:
- Transaction code
Access the application and choose System -> Status. Here you will find the name of the transaction in the section SAP Data.
- Error message number and work area
By double-clicking on the error message the system displays the corresponding long text. This long text includes the error message number and the work area.
