Example
Example 1
Goods ordered from vendor V1 will be shipped by service agent S1 directly from that vendor to plant 0001.
Route R1 is defined for departure at vendor V1 and arrival at plant 0001, with service agent S1 assigned. The delivery document specifies the vendor, but not the service agent.
You create the following entry:
Vendor Service Agent Plant Route
V1 blank 0001 R1
Example 2
Goods ordered from vendor V2 will be shipped by service agent S2 directly from a different vendor V2 to plant 0001. Vendor V2 could be a separate manufacturing location of the same company as vendor V1.
Route R2 is defined for departure at vendor V2 and arrival at plant 0001, with service agent S2 assigned. The delivery document specifies the vendor V2 with partner function goods supplier and service agent S2 with partner function forwarding agent.
You create one of the following entries:
Vendor Service Agent Plant Route
V2 S2 0001 R2
Vendor Service Agent Plant Route
V2 blank 0001 R2
Example 3
Goods ordered from vendor V3 are normally shipped by service agent S3 to plant 0001 in a milk-run process, with pick-up at multiple vendors for full truckload. In particular cases, a direct shipment by service agent S4 from that vendor to plant 0001 occurs.
Route R3 is defined for milk-run shipments with departure from multiple vendors before arriving at plant 0001, with service agent S2 assigned. Route R4 is defined for direct shipment with departure from vendor V3 and arrival at plant 0001, with service agent S4 assigned. The delivery document specifies the respective service agent used with partner function forwarding agent.
You create the following entries:
Vendor Service Agent Plant Route
V3 S3 0001 R3
V3 S4 0001 R4
