In this IMG activity, you define the transportation groups. You specify the transportation groups defined here in sales/plant data of the material master record. The transportation group is copied into the delivery item.

SAP Recommendation

The system can only carry out route determination if the transportation group is included in the material master record. As the transportation group is a prerequisite for route determination, you should select the transportation group in the material master record as a required-entry field to guarantee the entry. The section "Define material types" provides information on marking fields in the material master record as required-entry fields.

Actions

  1. Check which transportation groups are used in your shipping processing.
  2. Define the transportation groups. Enter an alphanumeric key with up to four digits and a description for each transportation group.
  3. Make sure that the transportation group is entered in the material master records.
