A profile contains authorization objects for a particular group of tasks. A composite profile can contain several profiles. Using profiles and composite profiles, you can structure the authorizations in your system.

The user receives all authorizations contained in the profile/composite profile defined in the relevant user master.

In this section you can check whether the profiles in the standard delivery system meet your requirements, and define new profiles if necessary.

Requirements

You have defined authorizations according to your needs.

Standard settings

The SAP System contains predefined profiles for some typical application areas such as:

SAP_ALL

  • All authorizations for SAP systems
  • SAP_NEW

    All authorizations for all newy added objects

  • C_PS_ALL

    Maintenance authorization for the Project System

Activities

  1. Check whetehr the standard profiles are sufficent for your requirements.
  2. If necessary, create new profiles to meet these requirements.
  3. Check whether the profiles are complete, that is whether all users can execute their assigned tasks.

Notes on transport

You transport profiles as follows:

  1. Display the profiles list.
  2. Choose "Profile - Transport".
  3. Select the profiles you wish to transport.
  4. Confirm your selections and enter the correction number.
