This step shows how you define a calculation base for overhead calculation. The calculation base defines the cost centers and activity types to which overheads are to be applied.

For each controlling area you assign the calculation base of individual cost centers or cost center ranges or individual activity types or activity type ranges.

  • For production overheads you can differentiate the calculation base by fixed and variable costs. This enables you to apply different overheads to the fixed and variable shares of the activity type tarifs.

Note

If you do not specify activity types for a cost center range, all activity types are included from the affected range.

Activities

You define a calculation base as follows:

  1. Choose "New Entries" to create a new calculation base.
  2. Enter a four figure identifier of your choice and a description for the new calculation base.
  3. Select the line and choose "Detail".
  4. Enter the individual cost centers or cost center range.

    If you want to break down cost centers in activity types, you can also specify individual activity types or activity type ranges. If you enter an upper limit for an activity type range, all activity types up to this limit are selected.

  5. Save your entries.
