The data transfer workbench is a central transaction for transferring data from a legacy system to the SAP system automatically. It provides the tools necessary for initial data transfer and also for regular data transfer.

You can use the data transfer workbench to transfer industry material master data by direct input. However, be sure to read the relevant SAP library documentation first. It gives a step-by-step description of how to transfer data, and also tells you what material-master-specific points you must observe. In the SAP library, you can access this documentation by choosing CA Data Transfer Workbench -> LO Logistics General -> LO Material Master Data: Data Transfer Workbench.
