In this IMG activity you can change the existing search helps for material master records aor create new ones. However, be sure to read the information on how search helps are set up in the system, and the information on creating and maintaining search helps first. This information is contained in the documentation BC ABAP Dictionary. Since a technical knowledge of the ABAP Dictionary is required to perform this task, search helps should be maintained only by your system administrator.

Search helps are valid for all clients.
Standard Settings
The following elementary search helps are assigned to the collective search help for the material number.

Actions
- Check the search helps in the standard R/3 System.
- Extend the collective search help MAT1 for the material number to include new search help IDs as required.
If you want to create a new search help for finding a material by the material description, use field MAKT-MAKTG since the system will not then differentiate between upper and lower case.
- Deactivate any search helps you do not require.
