In this step, you assign the individual account posting types for your returnable packaging to the appropriate MM movement types.
This assignment ensures that when goods movement of returnable packaging is posted in MM Inventory Management, the system carries out the corresponding returnable packaging account posting (if you have set automatic returnable packaging account posting for the material type).
Example
Requirements
In order to use automatic RP account posting, the following prerequisites must be met:
- You must have authorized automatic posting for the account posting type (under Maintain account posting types).
- You must have set returnable packaging logistics as mandatory for the material type (under Define attributes for material types ).
Standard settings
The necessary combinations are shipped as standard.
Recommendation
SAP recommends that you use these standard combinations. If you want to create a new combination, copy an existing one to use as a template.
Activities
To create a new combination of movement type and account posting type, proceed as follows:
- Starting from Customizing for Packaging Materials Logistics, select Assign account posting types to movement types.
- The system displays all movement types that are assigned account posting types.
- Select the desired combination of MM movement and account posting type.
- Choose Edit -> Copy as... .
- Change the existing combination and save the new one.
Further notes
You must have maintained entries for the movement types 621, 622, and 623 (with exchange partners) under 'Posting Type - RP Account'.
