In this section you learn
- how to activate the hazardous material check
- which defaults to set in order to be able to place materials into stock in certain storage types or storage sections (dependent on the hazardous material parameters).
Standard settings
We recommend the hazardous material check for all physical storage types, for example, high rack storage area or bulk storage area. For interim storage areas (for example, GR/GI zones, differences), the hazardous material check is not appropriate.
Activities
Set the necessary parameters for the "hazardous material check" in the specified sequence:
- Activate the hazardous materials check in your storage types.
- Assign the region codes to a warehouse number
Assign a region code to the respective warehouse numbers.
- Assign allowed storage classes to the storage type
The system checks during stock placement (putaway) whether materials can be stored in certain storage types. Assign one or several storage classes to each storage type.
- Storage type search (determine search sequence)
Now define for each storage class or water pollution classification the search sequence in which the storage types are to be proposed for putaway. The combination of storage class and water pollution class as an input is possible
Make sure that you enter P for stock placements in the column Actv (Activity).
For more information, see the chapter Storage Type Search.
- Storage section search (determine search sequence)
If you want certain materials to be placed into stock in certain storage sections, you can assign the storage sections via the storage section search. Now define the search sequence in which the storage sections (per storage type) should be proposed for the stock placements for each storage or water pollution class.
For more information, see the section Storage Section Search.
