In this step, you define intervals for the number ranges for rebate arrangement types, so that a unique number can be assigned to identify a newly created arrangement or to identify a settlement run within the framework of "subsequent settlement" (end-of-period rebate settlement) grouping all settlement documents (vendor and customer billing documents).
There are two types of number assignment:
- Internal number assignment
The SAP System automatically assigns a sequence number from the defined number range.
- External number assignment
You specify a number from the external number range.
Actions
Number ranges for arrangements are defined via the various arrangement types (e.g. volume-based incentive rebate).
- Choose the arrangement type for which you wish to create an interval.
- Maintain the associated number range interval.
To do so, enter the limits of the number interval. The individual number intervals may not overlap. This ensures that each number can only occur once.
- Mark the number range if it is defined for external number assignment.
Notes on transport
You transport number range objects as follows:
Choose Interval -> Transport in the accounting document Number Range screen.
All intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.
Dependent tables are not transported or converted.
Further notes
Only the interval 01 with internal number assignment is allowed for the number of a settlement run.
The number of a settlement run is only assigned as of Release 4.5A. It may therefore be missing for old documents.
