In this step, you can subdivide countries into supply regions.
Example
Subdivision of the country Germany into its various federal states.
Activities
If you wish to define the regions a vendor supplies, you must maintain supply regions for MM. These are simultaneously the transportation zones for SD.
If the supply regions (MM) are identical with the transportation zones (SD), you need only maintain the settings in Customizing once.
If this is not the case, in procurement transactions the list of possible entries will include not only the supply regions but also the transportation zones.
For this reason, ensure you use unique descriptions when making your settings.
In the step "Assign plants to supply regions", you can then define the supply regions to which your plants belong.
