In this step, you define the number interval for the maintenance items.
Default settings
In the standard SAP R/3 System, the number range is defined with internal number assignment.
In the standard system, there are two number ranges:
- 01 for internal number assignment
- 02 for external number assignment
Note
A number range is used for the maintenance items. You can change the number range.
Recommendation
You are advised to work with the default settings because maintenance items are not usually selected with significant numbers.
Actions
Check the number range for the maintenance items.
You transport number range objects as follows:
Choose Interval -> Transport in the accounting document Number Range screen.
All intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.
Dependent tables are not transported or converted.
