In this step, you can define the format for name components dependent on the nationality of the name bearer. The edited name is used in Training and Event Management correspondence. The following formats are supported:
- Format 1 form of address (e.g. Mr, Mrs, Ms.)
- Format 2 name in the address
- Format 3 name in the letter salutation (Dear ...)
Example
The format for 2 (= name in the address) for nationality DE (= German) is:
- Number 1 title
- Number 2 first name
- Nummer 3 name prefix
- Nummer 4 surname
The sequential number determines the order of the name components e.g. "Dr. Karl von Mustermann".
Requirements
The relevant name components must be defined for the name bearers - in HR Master Data for employees, in Personnel Development for external persons or in Sales Support for contact persons.
Standard settings
The standard SAP R/3 package contains sample entries for the nationality DE and the entry * for all nationalities not listed explicitly.
It also contains the program RHNAME00 with editing routines for the individual name components.
Recommendation
Please ensure that the name components of the name bearers are maintained.
If you wish to create your own name formats, you can copy program RHNAME00 and enter them there.

- If required, specify your own sequence for name components for allowed nationalities.
- If required, create your own editing routines for the individual name components in a program of your own.
Further notes
No name editing is carried out for format 2 for persons in HR Master Data if this has already been maintained in the Master Data Record.
