In this step, you create business event groups . You can use business event groups to create a hierarchical event offering or catalog.
Business event types are assigned to business event groups. You maintain this relationship when you carry out the step Create Business Event Type.
You record the following data for business event groups:
- General description:
The text you store here is included in the business event brochure.
- Relationship - "Belongs to business event group"
Here you assign a business event group to an overlying business event group. The hierarchy is always created top down.
Example
Business event group (level 1): Language courses
Business event group (level 2): English
Business event types: Beginners English, English II
Recommendation
Once you have created an object, you can create all further objects and data in a structure in the step Maintain Master Data via Catalog.
Activities
- Enter the following on the initial screen:
- If you are using external number assignment, enter a number for the business event group you want to create in the Business event group field. Enter the validity start date of the object in the Validity field.
- If you are using internal number assignment, simply enter the validity start date of the object and choose Create.
- Enter the relevant data for the business event group on the data screen.
- Choose Save.
Further notes
Once you have created your first object, or if an object already exists in the system, you can use this as a reference to copy from. To do this, simply enter the number of the business event group you want to use as a reference in the Business event group field in the "Copy from" frame. All the data of the reference object will be proposed on the screen. You may overwrite this data.
The settings you made in the step Maintain Personnel Actions affect the data maintenance activities you can carry out for business event groups since this step contains specifications as to what infotypes you can maintain for business event groups.
