In this IMG activity, you define assignment types for services in relation to a given institution. These assignment types are used to assign one service (service master record) to another service.

You require assignment types

  • For creating service groups (service hierarchy formation) that are used to group services for insurance verification
  • For service re-mapping as concerns service catalog and service determination

Requirements

You must have created the institution for which you want to define service assignment types.

For each institution, you should define at least one assignment type for creating service groups and service re-mapping.

Activities

Create an assignment type by specifying

  • The institution (under a 4-character key) in the Inst. field
  • A user-defined assignment type (3-character, alphanumeric) in the Asgmt Ty field
  • How this assignment type is used in the Description field
  • The code for the kind of assignment type in the Maint.ID field (C = service re-mapping, G = grouping)
