In this IMG activity, you define service catalogs that are valid in a particular institution. You subsequently create the related services (service master records) with reference to the service catalogs. You make reference to these catalogs when:
- Entering performed services
- Carrying out insurance verification
- Invoicing
- Transferring services into Controlling
Requirements
You must have created the institution for which you want to define a service catalog.
SAP Recommendation
You should create a service catalog in which you store the complete range of inpatient and outpatient services offered by your institution. This is used as the in-house catalog (hospital-specific service catalog) for entering performed services. You should set up further service catalogs according to your requirements. You can stipulate the service catalog to be used as the in-house catalog in Customizing for IS-H by choosing Settings -> System Parameters -> Maintain Institution-Specific, Time-Independent Parameters.
Activities
Define a service catalog by specifying:
- The institution (under a 4-character key) in the Inst. field.
- A key for uniquely identifying the service catalog in the SC field.
- A short text describing the service catalog in the Catalog field.
- The name of the service catalog in the Catalog Name field.
- A catalog currency in the Crcy field.
Additional Information
The catalog identification is used as a partial key in the master data of the services. The currency key is automatically filled with the local currency if you do not specify a different currency. This currency determines the currency of the amounts specified in the catalog columns.
