Use
In this IMG activity, you define the number ranges for HCM dispatch orders and for messages that are ready to send. You also create the number ranges for electronic data interchange.
Standard Settings
- The objects for defining the number ranges that are used to assign unique HCM numbers are predefined in the standard system. The object ISH_NC02 is predefined for dispatch orders and for messages that are ready to send. The system assigns a number to each inbound message. Object ISH_NCI0 is required for this purpose.
- The number range objects ISH_NC301, ISH_NC301D and ISH_NC301X are predefined for EDI message administration. Further number range objects are available for other country versions or EDI procedures.
Activities
- You have to explicitly specify the objects ISH_NC02 andISH_NC301X explicitly for each institution.
- Since the objects ISH_NCI0 and ISH_NC301D/ISH_NC301 are cross-institution, do not specify an institution for these number ranges.
- The transaction mode must always be "N".
- Enter the wildcard value * for the object key of the objects ISH_NC02, ISH_NCI0, ISH_NC301 and ISH_NC301D
- You must enter the appropriate EDI procedure (e.g. CCPS for CCPS data exchange in Singapore) as the object key of the object ISH_NC301X.
- You must enter the two-digit identification of an internal number range in the NI field.
- Do not make an entry in the NE (external number range) field.
- You must not set the A (alphanumeric) indicator.
- Maintain the number range interval by choosing Intervals and Insert Interval. In each case, the system checks whether the intervals overlap.
You must consequently always define purely numeric internal number ranges. The system automatically determines a number in the corresponding situation.
- For the object ISH_NC301X, you can use different intervals for different EDI procedures. You can, however, use a single number range interval for several active EDI procedures.
Note
SAP recommends that you select as large a number range as possible (from '000...000' to '999...999') for these purely technical numbers. This ensures long-term, problem-free functionality.
