In this IMG activity, you specify service groups, whose members are mutually exclusive.

Assignment Type

Note that the assignment type to be used here for the service groups is defaulted by the institution-specific, time-dependent system parameter ZTYP_AUS. For more information about the institution-specific, time-dependent system parameters, refer to the section entitled Maintain Institution-Specific, Time-Dependent Parameters.

You have to define a particular assignment type for the service groups.

Procedure

  1. For reasons of clarity, it is recommended that you define your own assignment type for service exclusion groups. Make sure that you set the maintenance code G (grouping) for this assignment type. You define the assignment type in the activity Define Assignment Type.
  2. You now have to specify this assignment type in the system parameter ZTYP_AUS. Note that this system parameter is time-dependent. This parameter is located under the Patient Accounting in the IMG activity Maintain Institution-Specific, Time-Dependent Parameters, or directly here in the activity Define Assignment Type for Service Exclusion Groups.
  3. You can now use this assignment type to maintain the service groups you want to use for service exclusion and which you have to specify in the exclusions. You make these settings in the activity Define Exclusions for Service Groups.

In a similar way as for conditions for service pairs, you can use the message type to influence how the system is to respond to a rule violation. By means of the F (full exclusion) checkbox, you control whether extended services in the groups should be mutually exclusive for the duration of the case, or if their validity dates should simply not overlap.
