In this IMG activity, you define types of coverage on an institution basis.

Flagging the Dep.Cover. checkbox here means that users can enter the main insured party when maintaining the insurance relationships.

In the Ins. BDT field, you assign your internal type of coverage to a valid insured type according to the BDT format (Germany only).

This specification is necessary for checking the status of the insured on the healthcare smart card and also for creating the BDT record for PPA billing.

Requirements

You need to have already created the institution for which you wish to define types of coverage.

Activities

You define a type of coverage by specifying:

  • The institution (four-character key) in the Inst field
  • A user-defined coverage type key (one-character, alphanumeric) in the C field
  • The descriptive text for the type of coverage in the Type of Coverage field.
  • Whether the patient is insured via a third party. If this is the case, flag the Dep.Cover. checkbox.
  • The insured party's status according to the BDT format
    • 1 = member
    • 3 = dependent coverage
    • 5 = pensioner
