In this IMG activity, you maintain all case classification categories that may legally required or used for information purposes within your healthcare facility.
A classification category designates a criterion according to which a case can be described more precisely or classified for a given period of time.

Three classification categories are predefined in Patient Management:

  • Case classification according to patient groups (nursing acuity)
  • Indicator "Sick newborn" for billing purposes
  • Treatment class to facilitate the management of billing-relevant information with regard to a given period

You can also define classification categories of your own:

Examples:

  • Classification with regard to the treatment type
  • Classification with regard to the risk of infection

Execution

  1. The initial data screen lists the classification categories predefined in the system.
  2. You can change existing categories by choosing Details.
  3. You can add new classification categories by choosing Edit -> New Entries.

In the detail screen, which you access by choosing Details, you can stipulate whether:

  • The corresponding classification category applies to the nursing acuity classification
  • A parallel classification according to this category is allowed
  • Classification categories have to be maintained on a daily basis.
