In this IMG activity, you assign organizational unit categories to a case type for a specific institution.
Use
The identifier sequence for the organizational units is set up using this assignment. With case-related functions, this identifier sequence is output in the screen header, thereby indicating the current organizational assignment of the case. It also serves as an input help when patients are assigned to organizational units in the admission and transfer procedures and for outpatient visits.
Example
Institution 1 is composed of clinics, departments, care units and outpatient clinics.
The system is to display the following in the screen header and for patient assignment:
- For all inpatient admissions (case type = 1):
Clinic identifier, department identifier and care unit identifier
- For all outpatient admissions (case type = 2):
Clinic identifier, department identifier, outpatient clinic identifier This can be achieved by making the following table entries:
Inst CT Name OCat OU Category Name
1 1 Inpatient C Clinic
1 1 Inpatient D Department
1 1 Inpatient CU Care Unit
1 2 Outpatient C Clinic
1 2 Outpatient D Department
1 2 Outpatient O Outpatient Clinic
Note
You specify the order in which the identifiers appear in the identifier sequence, together with the corresponding keywords, when defining the organizational unit categories. For more information about this, refer to the section Define Categories of Organizational Units of the IS-H Implementation Guide.
