You have the option of evaluating archives and outputting reports with archived data and/or the database.
In order for archived data to be able to be read, there are SAP standard reports (ABAPs) for some SAP standard tables. You must first generate the necessary programs for those tables for which no reports are delivered. These evaluation programs permit different evaluations using archived data or data in the database (summary or actual and plan line item reports) in which you can drill down on totals and display the individual line items irrespective of whether the line items are in the archive or in the database.
SAP tables (GLT1, GLS1, GLP1, GLFUNCT, GLFUNCA, GLFUNCP) used by local user-defined ledgers are each delivered with a generated standard program. You can generate your own programs for reading archives for all installed and active FI-SL tables.
In this activity, you check which standard programs and which customer- generated programs exist in which tables. Missing programs or programs to be regenerated (due to table changes) can be generated as described in "Activities."
Requirements
When changing SAP standard tables (such as when deleting or inserting a table field), you must regenerate the affected programs after the table installation. (You can only use an SAP standard report as long as no changes have been made to the table.)
Recommendation
When entering the program to be generated, we recommend that you not overwrite the SAP standard programs, as this will create two identical programs. If you want to modify a program to better suit your needs, copy the SAP standard program from SE38 and change it accordingly.
Activities
- To switch into change mode, choose "Display -> Change".
- For a particular table, enter the name of the program to be generated in order for you to evaluate the archive and/or data in the database.
The program name must start with Z or Y.
- Choose "Save."
In the dialog box you specify whether every program or just the ones that were added should be generated.
The system generates the programs you entered. You can now use these programs to evaluate data that has been archived or data that is in the database in the archiving environment.
