You use this activity to set the location path for multi-layer caching.
Use
The Content Management Service one-layer caching concept has been extended so that a cache server can also access content from another cache. This means that caching can be implemented in large distributed environments. On the way back to the client the content is placed in each cache server passed through.
To set up multi-layer caching, you have to specify a path from the location of the client to the location of the content server. The path consists of individual locations and you can determine their sequence with exponential index numbers. All cache servers along this path between the client and the content server are searched for the requested content.
Requirements
- The locations of the client and Content Server are known.
- The caches are known.
