In this menu option, you define the procedure for automatic alternative determination.
Each procedure is represented via an application. You need this application for exploding the BOM at order creation.
Alternative determination is not controlled via the application. However, it is influenced via settings in the material master.
In the material master, you can define whether you want alternative selection for a material according to one of the following parameters, in the field "Alternative selection".
- Order quantity
- Date
- Production version
You define the following criteria via the application:
- Priority sequence of BOM usage (selection ID)
- Priority of a particular alternative for a special multiple BOM dependent on date
For each application, you can define whether the settings for alternative selection of multiple BOMs are taken into consideration. These settings are only taken into account if you have selected alternative selection according to date in the respective material master.
- Take production version into account
If you have selected alternative selection according to the production version in the material master, you can define whether this setting is taken into consideration here. If you do not want this setting to be taken into account, the system makes the alternative selection according to order quantity for the respective material and application.
- BOM status indicator
In alternative determination, only those BOMs whose status contains at least the indicator entered here are taken into account.
Note
At order creation, the application is determined based on the order type.
