In this IMG activity, you define the authorization groups for production resources/tools (PRT) with PRT master records (miscellaneous).

You can use authorization groups to restrict the access authorization for production resources/tools as follows:

  • You assign the authorization for a specific authorization group to users in their user master records.
  • You assign the appropriate authorization group for production resources/tools that are to be maintained by certain users only when you create or change the production resource/tool.

The system checks the authorization group of users when they carry out the following transactions:

  • Create PRT
  • Change PRT
  • Display PRT
  • Delete PRT
