In this step, you determine the production supply areas for KANBAN/JIT.

The production supply areas are storage units directly available in the production line or the work center. Here, materials in the container are made directly available for production. The production supply area is assigned to:

  • a plant
  • a storage location
  • someone responsible.

The goods movement postings come from the assigned storage location. The person responsible determines the replenishment source (in other words the production supply area) via in-house production.
