Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the component Kanban (PP-KAB). You can use this Business Add-In to:

  • Add new, customer-defined Kanban key figures
  • Extend the business logic to calculate standard Kanban key figures supplied by SAP

The key figures with the relevant data are sent to the BI system for calculation. These key figures are used in Kanban to analyze operations.

Requirements

Addition of new, customer-defined Kanban key figures

To add the new, customer-defined Kanban key figures, you must extend and activate the communication structure MCKANB, the extraction structure MC04PK0KAN, and the DataSource 2LIS_04_PKKANBAN in the Logistics Extraction Structures of the Customizing Cockpit (transaction LBWE).

  1. Attach new customer-defined fields to the communication structure MCKANB.
  2. Execute transaction LBWE and navigate to: 04: Production -> Extraction Structures ->MC04PK0KAN: Extraction PP-BW: Kanban.
    1. Choose Maintenance.
    2. Choose the new, customer-defined fields from the pool and adopt them in the selection. Press Continue.
    3. Save the DataSource 2LIS_04_PKKANBAN.
    4. Under Update, switch to Active.

The DataSource 2LIS_04_PKKANBAN now contains customer-defined fields.

Enhancement of Business Logic for Standard Kanban Key Figures Supplied by SAP

You can enhance the business logic for standard Kanban key figures supplied by SAP directly in the BAdI implementation. It is not necessary to enhance the communication structure MCKANB, the extraction structure MC04PK0KAN, or the DataSource 2LIS_04_PKKANBAN .

Standard settings

This Business Add-In is not active in the standard system. The BAdI is intended for once-only use and is invoked when a kanban status changes.

Activities

  1. Create an enhancement implementation of the Business Add-In.
  2. Implement the method FILL_MCKANB.
  3. Add your business logic to populate the customer fields in the communication structure MCKANB.
  4. Extend the logic to populate the existing SAP-specific fields in the communication structure MCKANB.
