Use
In this IMG activity, you activate requirement prioritization, if you want to handle material requisitions in the supply chain in accordance with their urgency.
You activate requirement prioritization on a client basis by setting the Prioritization Is Active indicator. You must set activate requirement prioritization in order to
- Evaluate all additional Customizing settings for requirement prioritization
- Display the fields for requirement prioritization in central purchasing, reservation, and materials planning transactions
The standard system contains an inactive data record that you can use as a template for activating the requirement prioritization. Select and copy the table row, define values for the requirement urgency and requirement priority, set the activation indicator, and choose Continue.
In the standard system, the values 99
(requirement urgency) and 255
(requirement priority) are proposed. If no requirement urgency exists or not all the relevant Customizing settings have been made, the system assumes that the material requisition in question has a low requirement urgency or requirement priority. If you change these default values in the table columns for the requirement urgency and requirement priority, make sure that the values you use are defined in the IMG activities Define and Assign Requirement Urgencies and Define Requirement Priorities.
If you set the activation indicator, the system always transfers the values stored in the activation table, if
- The user does not assign a material requisition a requirement urgency in the relevant transactions
- The requirement urgency assigned by the user or system does not permit determination of the requirement priority due to the entries in Customizing
If you created and saved your data record using the copy function, you can delete the inactive data record provided by SAP as a template.
Caution
Once you have activated requirement prioritization, you must not deactivate it. Otherwise, purchasing and reservation documents will be updated without requirement urgency and requirement priority.
