In this step, you define the standard report tree for Asset Accounting. The report tree is a freely definable, hierarchical structure whose nodes represent a report callup.
This is where the name of each tree is stored which is processed in the relevant application menu in report selection. The standard system contains a default tree per application. You can create your own tree here and overwrite the SAP default.
Also, you can control whether the reports are displayed in the nodes in this tree hierarchy or in selection windows or in a separate screen via 'Extras' -> 'Control'.
The system displays the report tree in the application menu of Asset Accounting under Info system.
Standard settings
SAP provides the report tree FIAA as a default. This report tree contains all the standard reports of Asset Accounting.
The report tree FIAA is only supplied in client 000. You have to transport the report tree into other clients.
Recommendation
In general, it is not necessary to modify the standard report tree. You can define and display your own user-specific report tree in the report selection transaction in the menu (under: Goto).
Activities
- Import the standard report tree FIAA from client 000 to your test or productive clients (Reporting tree -> Import).
- Create your own report selection under Reporting tree -> Create (root nodes only).
- Copy the report tree FIAA. You do this by calling the change transaction for the report tree FIAA, and then selecting the sub-tree you want to copy. Copy it to the clipboard (Copy to clipboard).
- In the change transaction, choose Node -> Other tree and call up the new tree you created.
- Insert the copied sub-tree into your report selection (Insert from clipboard)
- Modify your report selection to meet your requirements (Edit):
- Delete structure branches.
- Create new structure branches.
- Change the report callup of the end nodes of the structure.
Further notes
See also the general information on defining report selection in the corresponding Customizing transaction under Utilities. There is also a description of transport options there.
