In this step, you transfer legacy data using Microsoft Excel. This procedure is suitable when you want to tranfer not more than a few hundred assets.

You have to have already created an Excel sheet containing your legacy data.

Activities

  1. Start the transfer program.
  2. Make the following settings in the initial screen of the transfer transaction:
    1. Enter the path of the input file.
    2. If you want to create a new field assignment, choose "Create field assignment." On the next screen, assign the field descriptions from your Excel worksheet to field in the SAP System.
    3. If you want to use an existing field assignment, then select this field assignment and choose "Start with field assignment."
  3. Carry out a test run, and correct any errors that occur during the test run.
  4. Create the assets.
  5. You can save field assignments by choosing "Saved assignments."
