Use

You use this Customizing activity to maintain icons, shapes, size and style of the LAM object, marker, orders and notifications.

Requirements

You must have maintained a configuration for LAM by going to Customizing and choosing Cross-Application Components -> Processes and Tools for Enterprise Applications -> Geographical Information System (GIS) Configuration.

Standard settings

Activities

You must do the following:

  • Choose New Entries.
  • Choose Linear Asset Management in the Visual Object Name column.

    There are 3 options in the dropdown list of the column Visual Object Name:

    • Linear Asset Management
    • Order Object
    • Notification Object
  • Choose the Object Style as Polyline or Polygon.
  • Choose the Color either as Red, Yellow, Green or Blue.
  • Enter the Size.
  • Choose the Pattern (either as Solid, DashDot, Dash).
  • Save the results.
  • To maintain the Start Point and End Point select the Visual Object Name (for example, Linear Asset Management) and choose Visual Object Component.
  • Choose the Marker Type from the following options:
    • Marker
    • Functional Location
    • Equipment
    • Well-Known Location
    • Well-Known Functional Location
    • Well-Known Equipment
  • Choose Shape from the following options:
    • Circle
    • Cross
    • Diamond
    • Square
    • Triangle
  • Choose Size.
  • Choose the Color either as Red, Yellow, Green or Blue.
  • Choose LAM Icon.
  • Save the results.

Note:

The same configuration processes is done for Order Object and Notification Object.

If we maintain both LAM Icon as well as Shape, Size and Color, only the icon is displayed on the map. If Icon is not maintained in Customizing then the image of the combination of Shape, Size and Color is shown.
