In this step you define the physical-sample types for sample management.

Standard settings

The table of sample types has the delivery class G. The following name range is reserved for the user:

  • Sample types 9*, A*, ... , Z*.

Recommendation

  • When you define new sample types, familiarize yourself with the table entries given in the standard system.
  • First test the label printing function using the function modules, forms, print reports and settings contained in the standard system. Then, if necessary, make additional adjustments.

Activities

  1. Use the F1 help function to find information about the control functions that are linked to the samples, and identify which sample types occur in your company.
    1. Define the physical-sample types in the table.
    2. Determine whether you need number ranges dependent on the sample type and maintain these if required.
    3. Determine whether you need status profiles and maintain these if required.
  2. Plan the printing of the physical-sample labels.
    1. Define the function module for each physical-sample type that prepares the print procedure for the physical-sample labels and determine whether the labels are to be printed immediately, when the physical-sample records are generated.
Note: If you want to define your own printing of labels, use the function module QPRS_LABEL_PRINT_REFERENCE as a copy model!
    2. Define the print control for the label printing.

Further notes

You must define a physical-sample type for the inspection type, if you want the system to create physical-sample records for physical-sample drawing on the basis of the sample calculation.
