In this step, you make the required settings to process returns and repairs of materials that have to be processed as a result of customer repair orders.
The following procedures are taken into account:

  • Basic procedure: Repair order and service order
    This procedure forms the basis for the following complementary variants:
  • Variant 1: With quality notification (or service notification)
  • Variant 2: With quality notification (or service notification) and quality inspection
  • Variant 3: With quality inspection

The text for this step deals with the basic procedure and the individual variants separately.

Recommendation

Use the recommendation for implementing the IMG (hypertext link to the IMG structure in place of displaying the IMG text in the SAPscript editor using the display function).

Repair Order and Service Order

Requirements

The starting point for processing is a repair order from the customer. The repair order is an SD sales document which references a serviceable material and, depending on the order type, a service product.

A service order is generated from the customer order. The order type for this must fulfill the following criteria:

If these Requirements are not fulfilled, the system displays an error message.

Variant 1: With Service or Quality Notification

Standard settings

The following follow-up actions for tasks are defined for this variant in Customizing for notifications:

  • G_MOVE: Enter goods movements
  • REP_ORD: Create repair order
  • REP_VE: Confirm decision in repair order

Catalog 2 (tasks) contains codes in code group QM-G1 Codes, to which these follow-up actions are assigned.

  • Code 0014: Create repair order
    Follow-up action REP_ORD
  • Code 0015: Enter goods movements for the repair order
    Follow-up action G_MOVE
  • Code 0018: Confirm decision in repair order
    Follow-up action REP_VE

In Customizing for quality notifications, appropriate follow-up functions (generated tasks/activities) are already defined for notification types Q1, S1, S2 and S3 for this variant.

  • Function: Create repair order
  • Function: Enter goods movement
  • Function: Decision in repair order

Recommendation

Copy the standard settings from client 000 into the current client.
If you define your own code groups and codes following the standard example, because you want your own nomenclature, you must also adapt the corresponding follow-up function.

Further notes:

This variant does not support serial numbers as service objects.

Variant 2: With service or quality notification and defect determination using an inspection lot.
