In this step you specify for each notification whether a reference should be made to existing Q-notifications for the same material, customer, vendor and manufacturer and if so, how this is to be done. You determine how the absolute frequency of the Q-notifications should be determined according to the following:
- Criteria
The criteria depend on the notification origin. The frequency of customer complaints can be determined for example according to materials, customers, or to a combination of material and customer. - Data source
The following data sources are available: - The original data for the Q-notification
- The compressed data in the QM information system
- The time-frame in the past
The related notifications are displayed by the system in the notification header when the notification is processed, if the absolute frequency that is determined according to the given criteria is greater than zero.
Requirements
If you want to use the QM Information System as the data source, you must have specified an update for the relevant notification type.
Recommendation
Make sure you are aware of all the function options, by reading the F1 online documentation on the table fields contained in the view.
Activities
Decide whether you require key figures to be displayed for the frequency of the notification when the notifications are processed. If necessary, maintain suitable criteria for data compression, the data source, and the screen display control for each notification type.
Further notes
The area on the screen containing the reference to related quality notifications is only displayed, if it has been defined in the Define screen template section for the notification type.
The reference to related notifications is displayed when results are recorded and when the usage decision is made for the inspection lot, if such notifications exist.
Even a notification that is being processed is included in the evaluation of related notifications.
