Use
In this IMG activity, you specify the form categories. The settings apply for both question catalogs and questionnaires.
The form categories that you specify here are assigned to question catalogs and questionnaires in the following IMG activities:
- Assign Forms and Print Programs to Question Catalogs
- Assign Forms and Print Programs to General Questionnaires
- Assign Forms and Print Programs to Specific Questionnaires
Standard settings
The SAP standard system contains the following form categories:
Form Category Form Category Description
FNORM Standard format for forms
FSCAN Scan-in format for forms
FQCAT Print program for question catalog entries
The form category FSCAN (scan-in format) is for scanning the completed questionnaires into the SAP system. Beside each question on the printed-out questionnaire is a 13-digit code. This is generated by the system and is made up of the following numbers:
- Number of question catalog
- Number of catalog group
- Number of catalog entry
- Number of answer criterion (if applicable)
This code and the marked answers are assigned to the appropriate questions when the questionnaire is scanned in.
The form category FNORM (standard format) is designed for questionnaires that are not scanned in. The answers in these questionnaires must be entered in the system manually.
The form category FQCAT (print program for question catalog entries) is intended for question catalogs.
Recommendation
SAP recommends you use the default settings because special programming knowledge is required to create form categories.
