Use

In this IMG activity, you determine the order in which the system works through the condition tables when searching for certain condition records. This action is dependent on the condition type with help from an access sequence. Every condition table contains a certain combination of fields for which the system should search in the condition records. The search sequence should go from special to general condition records. For example to search for the Material field before the Material Group field.

Using the exclusive condition access (E) indicator, you determine that the system ends the search after the first valid condition record is successfully accessed.

You determine an access sequence for every condition type for which you create condition records.

Requirements

Standard settings

SAP delivers 16 access sequences corresponding to the delivered condition types, which represent a whole formula or different formula parts. Each access sequence references to two condition tables. One table is used for default formulas on header level, the other is used for formulas on item level.

For the access corresponding to the header condition table, six attributes are taken into account for prioritization.

For the access corresponding to the item condition table, eight attributes are taken into account for prioritization.

Activities

In the context of usage FA (Formula Assembly), we recommend that you use the same name for the access sequence and condition type.

Namespace for user-defined entries: A* to Z* and 8*, 9*.

Example

You have prepared different agreements with your customers, which are represented by different formulas. You create the following condition records in the system for:

  • Customer Sample Ltd. - A basic formula.
  • The customer above and the product 'Commodity-1' - A product-specific formula.

In the access sequence, you define that the system should first search for the product-specific formula before searching for the basic formula. Therefore, when the customer Sample Ltd. orders the product 'Commodity-1', the system works out the product-specific formula instead of the basic formula.
