You can define the port description here. This definition is a pre- requisite for sending messages to a logical system.

You allocate the port to a partner in the partner profile. This allocation is for consistency reasons only. No outbound processing actually takes place. The outbound processing is converted immediately into inbound processing.

Standard settings

Three port categories in which you can create your own ports are delivered by SAP.

  • Transactional RFC - for SAP-SAP connections and external systems
  • File - for connections via EDI subsystems
  • R/2 system - for R/2 system connections

Activities

You have to create a port of category "file" for EDI allocation in ETM.

  • Enter the port name, a description and version "3".
  • You do not have to maintain any other data as it is not actually written to a file.
